A dodgy exhaust is more than just a noise problem. Leaks can let dangerous carbon monoxide fumes into the cabin, hurt your fuel economy, increase your emissions, and fail your WOF.
Under NZTA inspection criteria, any exhaust leak - particularly forward of the passenger compartment - is an automatic failure. We handle everything from patching a small leak to fabricating complete exhaust systems, using proper welding techniques that last. Our Glen Innes workshop is fully equipped for exhaust work on all vehicle types, from compact cars to larger SUVs and utes.
Whether it's a rattling muffler on a Toyota Hiace or a cracked manifold on a Subaru, we'll sort it properly.

How It Works
Drive in and we'll put the vehicle on the hoist for a thorough visual inspection of the entire exhaust system, from manifold to tailpipe. We'll identify where the problem is - whether it's a corroded section, a cracked weld, a blown gasket, or a failed catalytic converter.
You'll get a clear explanation of what needs doing and a quote. Most exhaust repairs can be completed the same day, and we road-test afterwards to make sure everything sounds right and there are no leaks.
Pricing Guide
Exhaust repair costs depend on what's needed - from a minor weld or clamp replacement through to a full system fabrication. Catalytic converter replacement tends to be the most significant cost, as the converter itself is the expensive component.
We'll always give you a firm quote after inspecting the system so you know exactly what to expect. Contact us to arrange an inspection.
Why Choose Eastern Bays
We don't just slap a clamp on and hope for the best. Our workshop is equipped for proper exhaust welding - MIG, TIG, and gas - so repairs are solid and long-lasting.
If a section can be repaired rather than replaced, we'll do that and save you money. We work with both mild steel and stainless steel components, and we fabricate sections in-house when off-the-shelf parts aren't available for your vehicle. This is particularly handy for older or less common models where exhaust parts can be hard to find.
We've been doing exhaust work in East Auckland for over two decades and take pride in repairs that last.
While you're here, we can also take care of WOF inspection, engine diagnostics and regular servicing - everything under one roof at our Glen Innes workshop.
