Don't get stranded with a flat battery

A flat battery always seems to happen at the worst possible time - a Monday morning when you're already running late, or when you're parked at the airport after a two-week holiday. Rather than waiting for that inevitable no-start situation, let us test your battery and charging system proactively.

We can tell you how much life your battery has left and fit a new one on the spot if needed. Modern vehicles place heavy demands on batteries, with multiple computers, sensors, and accessories all drawing power even when the car is parked. Stop-start systems, common in newer vehicles from BMW, Mazda, and Toyota, require specific battery types that handle frequent cycling.

At our Glen Innes workshop, we make sure you get the right battery for your vehicle and driving habits.

What We Cover

  • Starter motor current draw assessment
  • Battery terminal cleaning, tightening, and protection
  • Parasitic draw testing for mysterious flat batteries
  • Battery tray and hold-down inspection
  • Battery management system reset (where applicable)
  • Start-stop battery specialist replacement
  • Jump-start assistance
  • Electrical system voltage drop testing

How It Works

Drive in or call us if your car won't start and you need advice. We'll test your battery with a professional-grade analyser that measures its actual capacity and cranking ability - not just the voltage, which can be misleading.

If the battery is failing, we'll fit a replacement that matches your vehicle's specifications, including the correct size, capacity, and technology type. We'll also test the alternator output and check for parasitic draws to make sure the new battery will last. The whole process typically takes 30 to 60 minutes.

Pricing Guide

Battery pricing depends on the size and type required for your vehicle. Standard lead-acid batteries for common Japanese vehicles are at the lower end, while AGM (absorbent glass mat) batteries required for vehicles with start-stop systems and many European cars are higher.

We include fitting, terminal cleaning, and a charging system check in the price. Battery testing is free - we're happy to check your battery's health at any time with no obligation.

Why Choose Eastern Bays

We don't just swap batteries - we test the whole charging system to make sure a new battery is actually what you need. We've seen plenty of cases where customers have had a new battery fitted elsewhere only to find it going flat again because the alternator was failing or there was a parasitic draw draining it overnight.

Our diagnostic approach finds the real problem, saving you from replacing parts unnecessarily. We stock quality batteries from reputable brands in common sizes for same-day fitting, and we can source specialist batteries for European vehicles, vehicles with start-stop systems, and vehicles with batteries in unusual locations like the boot or under the rear seat.

While you're here, we can also take care of electrical diagnostics, full service and A/C service - everything under one roof at our Glen Innes workshop.
